The first weekend in October was a real gem this year for the Heritage Hill Home Tour. We had gorgeous weather! While we did not have a house on tour close by, we still managed to
gross $1775 at our annual NCBC Food Booth.
The Food Booth is our largest fundraiser of the year, and as outlined in our bylaws, we donate 50% of our proceeds to local organizations we feel are making a strong contribution to the community.
Usually we donate to 4 or 5 entities, but saw no reason to eliminate any organizations we discussed. This year the Board voted to donate $127 each to the following:
- C-Snip
- Central Reformed Church food pantry
- GR Public Schools homeless students
- Heartside Ministry
- Heritage Hill Association
- Shepherds of Independence
- YWCA Women’s Crisis Center
We feel fortunate to be able to contribute back to the community and appreciate the services that these organizations provide.
Thanks to all of you for volunteering or donating for the food booth or stopping by to have a snack - every little bit helps!
