Another Heritage Hill Tour – another great NCBC Food Booth! Sometimes you’re good and sometimes you’re lucky! Well, we were both this month at our annual
NCBC Food Booth held at
57 College N.E. The expert staff and donations along with great weather made this
one of the best Food Booths we’ve ever had – even without a house on tour on the block!
We went through at least 400 hot dogs or brats, 8 batches of Dutch soup, and dozens of donated bakegoods. Not to forget Beverley Nink’s pickles, David Criesher’s chili, Roberta Kok’s Kapusta, and Laura Martin’s Veggie Chili – all great hits again this year. People are telling us they are coming back to our food booth each year – it’s part of their ‘tour tradition’.
This event could not have occurred without working staffers or donations. We wish to thank Jack Hoppus & Jim Boylan for letting us invade their home again. Also many thanks to Tim Lowing for his assistance in getting our food donations from Sysco Foods, and Todd Reinholt for more donations by way of Jim Miller at the Shepherds of Independence.
Also, thanks also to the many who helped in meat ball rolling, set-up, teardown, and workers during the weekend. All of you make us a strong Block Club.
